Lightning MK.II is a 56 mph street-legal electric motorcycle built for the ride you actually do every day — commuting, delivery, errands. It is DOT-approved, plates and insures as a motorcycle, and costs a fraction of what electric motorcycles usually do.
A 7,000 W peak gear motor gives it real acceleration in traffic, and the removable 74V 45Ah lithium pack is good for up to 62 miles. Charging runs off a 10 A portable charger — about 4.5 hours to full — and the pack lifts out, so you can charge indoors instead of depending on where you park.
A single-sided swingarm and side-mounted motor keep the rear wheel open, which makes tire service noticeably easier than on a conventional scooter. 14-inch road tires, two-up seating and a 397 lb load capacity make it as practical for delivery work as it is for the commute.
