This one is for everyone who has a FLASH reserved. Thank you for putting a deposit behind a bike you haven’t seen in person yet, and for your patience while this batch came together. You trusted us before you could see it, so we want to show you what we do to earn that trust: where your FLASH is now, how every one is tested before it leaves the factory, and what’s new in this batch.
Where your FLASH is now
Where things stand
2 of 6 steps done. The bikes are being packed for the trip to the US.
We are here
Assembly and testing are finished, and the bikes are now being packed. Next, they ship to the US and arrive at our warehouse, where each one is checked in before it’s ready for you. We’re not putting a date on it yet — when we have one we’re confident in, you’ll hear it from us first, by email.
How every FLASH is checked before it's packed
Quality is the one step we won’t rush. We’d rather find a problem at the factory than have you find it on the road.
That’s why a FLASH doesn’t get packed just because it’s finished. It has to pass three rounds of testing first — by hand, by machine, and under load.
1. Hands-on inspection
As each bike comes off the line, technicians go over it by hand: checking the finish for flaws, the frame and structure for strength, every function for correct operation, and the wiring and electrical system. Some things are best caught by a trained eye and hand, so this is where people, not machines, take the lead.
2. The automated inspection line
Then come the numbers. On an automated motor-vehicle inspection system, each bike is measured for top speed, acceleration and power, and checked for ABS, wheel alignment and lights — measured by instruments, not judged by eye.
3. The dyno room
Finally, the dyno room. On the dynamometer the motor is run under load, the closest thing to a hard ride you can do indoors, so we see how the bike performs when it’s actually working.
A bike gets packed only once it passes all three. If anything isn’t right, it’s fixed and checked again first. And when the bikes reach our US warehouse, we check each one again before it’s handed over to you.
What’s new in this batch
Caring about quality also means making the bike better from one batch to the next. Five things have changed since the last batch. Every bike in this batch has all of them — including yours. None of it changes the price you reserved at.

A glossy, mirror-finish paint
The paint now has a high-gloss, mirror-like finish. It looks deeper, and dirt has a harder time sticking to it, so a quick wipe goes further.

A new color: White
White joins the lineup for this batch.

A 10-ft J1772 charging cable, included
Every FLASH now comes with a 10-foot J1772 charging cable for standard 120V outlets, free.
New · 4 of 5
A rear rack, included
A rear rack now comes with every bike, free — handy for a top box or strapping down a bag.

Metallic badges instead of stickers
We’ve dropped the printed logo and model stickers. The branding is now metallic labels, for a cleaner look.
