Classified E-bike & HMP INNO-A Serie Class 2 E-bike

E-bike Classes:
  1. Class 1 E-Bike (Pedal-Assist Only):
      1. Class 1 e-bikes are equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling. The motor assistance stops when the bike reaches a speed of 20 miles per hour (32 kilometers per hour).
      2. They do not have a throttle, so the rider must actively pedal to engage the motor.
      3. Class 1 e-bikes are often allowed on bike lanes and paths where traditional bicycles are permitted.
      4. They are typically considered bicycles, so no special license or insurance is required.
  2. Class 2 E-Bike (Throttle-Assist):
      1. Class 2 e-bikes have a throttle, similar to a scooter or motorcycle, that allows the rider to control the motor without pedaling.
      2. They are limited to a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour (32 kilometers per hour) when using the throttle.
      3. Class 2 e-bikes are also allowed on bike lanes and paths in many areas.
      4. Like Class 1 e-bikes, they are typically treated as bicycles in terms of licensing and insurance requirements.
  3. Class 3 E-Bike (Speed Pedelec):
    1. Class 3 e-bikes are equipped with a motor that provides assistance when the rider is pedaling, similar to Class 1 e-bikes.
    2. However, Class 3 e-bikes have a higher maximum assisted speed of 28 miles per hour (45 kilometers per hour).
    3. They do not have a throttle, so the rider must pedal to engage the motor.
    4. Class 3 e-bikes may be subject to additional regulations and are sometimes not allowed on certain bike paths or lanes.
